There are two types of searches on OzeWorld. The quick search tool located in the top right-hand corner of every page and the browse feature located in the left-hand column of every page.
Quick search is located in the top right-hand corner of every page. First you must choose the type of accommodation you wish to search; either hotels, hostels or all accommodation. Then simply type one or more search terms into the search box and hit ‘Enter’ or click on the ‘Go’ button.
Example ‘Go’ button:
A new page will then be displayed with a list of the most relevant hotels related to your search terms. The hotels will be sorted by the lowest priced hotel appearing first. You can then choose to sort alphabetically if you wish.
Here are some basic tips to help you with your search.
A Quick Search example: hotels in Sydney
1. Choose the type of accommodation = hotels
2. Type in your search term = sydney
3. Hit ‘Go’
You will now be presented with a list of hotels in Sydney. But because you can get this result from using the browse feature in the left column you should try a search by name.
So, say you wanted a specific brand of hotel:
1. Choose the type of accommodation = hotels
2. Type in your search term = hilton
3. Hit ‘Go’
Now you are presented with a list of Hilton hotels. Easy.
Choosing your search terms
The quick search tool matches your search terms to words that appear in the text we have received from each accommodation. For the best results use multiple search terms that fit into one of these categories:
Name
Address
Location
Description
Hotel facilities
Room facilities
You also want your search terms to be sufficiently specific. It is better for you to search for ‘hilton’ than to search for ‘luxury’. You must choose your search terms carefully. Quick search looks for the the exact match of your search phrase in the categories above, so ‘youth hostel’ will probably deliver better results than ‘cheap place to stay for young travelers’.
Capitalisation
Quick searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for ‘marriot maui’, ‘Marriot Maui’, and ‘mArRiOt MaUi’ will all return the same results.
“and” or “with” queries
There is no need to include ‘and’ or ‘with’ between terms. Quick search will only return pages that include an exact match of your search phrase. To make a search more specific simply type in more search terms.
Browse
The browse feature is located in the left-hand column of every page. The browse feature doesn’t use search terms but a pull-down menu of your options instead.
A Browse example: hotels in New York
1. Choose the type of accommodation = hotels
2. Choose the country = United States
3. Choose the city = New York
5. Hit ‘Go’
You will now be presented with a list of hotels in New York.
